As the end of our first term together as Bitterns approaches we thought it would be nice to share some of our learning with you all.
We started this term exploring the book “Aliens Love Underpants” by making alien hats and using drama techniques to retell the story in groups. We were really lucky that the weather outside was nice so we could perform our scenes to the rest of the class.
We continued to use our outdoor learning environment for our lessons and used chalk to help us with both our Phonics and Maths! In Phonics we have been working hard on our Phase 3 sounds and finding them in everyday words. In Maths we worked together to find the number bonds to 10 and represented numbers using unifix cubes.
Our core value this half term is Respect and Bitterns used some of our natural resources to think about this value and worked together to create a piece of art work.
We have also shown great collaboration skills indoors by helping each other order the numbers to 20 and beyond.
We had a very exciting Golden time when we were treated to (the rehearsal!) of an “Aliens Love Underpants” puppet show!
In English we have been learning when we use a capital letter, exclamation mark or question mark and looking for them in our reading books and when we visit the library on a Monday.
We have also been enjoying lots of other exciting moments such as finger painting, gardening, show and tell and even a visit from Mr Leaver who treated us to some music on the ukulele to help us learn our Harvest songs.
