Task 2 Draft a message for a bottle

It could be set in the past so you could be shipwrecked/ a prisoner from 200 years ago/ plane crash from the WW2 stuck on a Pacific island ( so think about your style of writing). Or, it could be set very recently- such as last year’s holiday in Greece, Mexico, Australia…..then you will use modern day language.

Include this information in your draft: who you are; where you are; why you are writing; your future hopes.

Remember what a diary needs to be like- not just a story-you are talking to yourself/ the diary so needs emotions, thoughts, ask questions. It can be informal, but punctuation and spelling still matter- see the mark scheme:

Or you had just been interviewed by the local tv/ you had researched the message and met a relative from the original writer and are now telling your diary about it. Or you had taken part in a beach clean/campaign to stop plastic being thrown into the sea….Or something else to do with the message in the bottle.
