The children have enjoyed exploring and learning about the Chinese New Year festival by following some of the traditional customs to welcome in good fortune – such as decorating the setting with our own handmade lanterns and paintings, tasting traditional Chinese foods, and trying on some cultural clothing like a Kimono. We experimented using chopsticks, explored the concept of red envelope gift giving and observed videos of firework displays and dragon dances!
