Grebes Class Assembly 22.9.22

Grebes worked with Mrs Feeley to prepare a play based on the book The Rabbit Listened. We discussed the different approaches the animals took when they saw Taylor was sad – for example, the bear shouted and roared and the hyena tried to laugh it off. The rabbit, however, simply stayed close and listened until Taylor was ready to shout, cry, remember, laugh, etc. This is a highly recommended book for developing empathy. Which animal are you most like when you see someone is upset?

Fledglings Summer

The children enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a tea party, along with some activities based on London and its landmarks, as well as the royal family. We also joined the school children on the school field and had a wonderful picnic!

We focused on an ‘under the sea’ theme. We learnt about sea creatures, what floats and sinks and the beach! There was also a large interest from some of the children about looking after the sea, so we discussed how it’s important to keep our oceans nice and clean.

We have been lucky enough to have a new interactive board installed. The children have loved using it in our group times, as well as using it throughout the session to make marks!

The children practised their climbing skills with adult support as we got our inside climbing frame out, persevering if they found it a bit tricky. The slide was super fun!
